THE SONG
Sinead Harnett - Got Me
It’s a song for the weekend, and it’s due time we went bonkers for Sinead Harnett’s debut single proper, her first work since appearing on some now classic Disclosure tracks last year. Although it’s undoubtedly club-ready, this track doesn’t make you think the midst of a neon-lit room and the heady glow, more, it’s the dark corners of a shadowed basement room, the nooks and crannies, the subcultures and sources of intrigue.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
WHITE TØMBS - Two Lovers
In ‘Two Lovers’, a track from WHITE TØMBS’ ambitious, multi-referencing debut EP ‘Yukiko In The Forest’, you can practically envisage the recording process that took place, bit-by-bit. Every intake of breath, every sudden jolt of energy and imagination that bursts forth as the track shapes itself to its Oriental-inspired ideals. By all means the stuff of bedroom-based beginnings, this London project belongs on cinematic soundtracks and mini-operas. That’s how big it could go.
