THE GIG
Gaps - London, Shacklewell Arms (Free with RSVP)

Brighton’s Gaps launch their debut single tonight in Dalston’s Shacklewell Arms. Hopefully this first work on Sexbeat will be the first of many, especially considering how little there is out there close to replicating Rachel and Ed’s electronic-meets-acoustic lull.

THE SONG
Small Finds - Cabana Beat
Cabana Beat by Small Finds

Claiming to reside in the Maldives, you wouldn’t put it past Small Finds from being tropical island revellers. Saying that, there’s a definite wit-led UK indie feel pushing itself to the forefront in ‘Cabana Beat’, the kind Moshi Moshi and co. might be smart so-and-sos to pick up on. If Casual Sex lived on mojitos or if Vampire Weekend’s ‘Horchata’ recipe was conjured up in the grand scenery of Oxford, they’d likely sound a fair bit like Small Finds.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS

Fünke Pop by Turnpike Glow

Everyone’s tried their hand and fledging wild ideas out of alternative rock, but few pull it off with as much aplomb as this lot. They showcase the EP at London’s Queen of Hoxton, 27th July.
