Leon T. Pearl - London, Birthdays

Part of Leon T. Pearl’s appeal is that he comes across like a caricature. He’s aware that this bopping house-addict with a cheeky grim is on the brink of being completely hilarious, not able to be taken seriously. Chances are we’ll see the real him tonight, where he plays his debut show launching the ‘Take You To Market’ single.

Inner Oceans - Ready Your Ghost

Inner Oceans could go two ways. The Denver/San Francisco hailing group let large on triumphant guitar giants, with the kind of mechanical chorus you didn’t deem anyone but the Flaming Lips capable of pulling off. There’s that side. Then there’s a slight sense of gentle, tame folk weaving its way in at the very beginning. In the end, that’s the less exciting part. It’s all about the chorus. Inner Oceans exhibit something quite remarkable; euphoria with a new slant.

Their Wedding are up to their knees in lust and they can’t hide it anymore. ‘Want’ is a gentle reminder of the power of love, especially when it’s sent from above, etc. etc.
