News The Neu Bulletin (19th May 2014)

Today’s new music guide features Rosie Lowe, LIFE and Losing End.

The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. We can’t please everyone, sorry.

Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “big Neu thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery.

THE GIG
Rosie Lowe, XOYO

Tonight sees moody pop talent Rosie Lowe play her biggest headline show to date - and it’s her only bill-topper for a while, with gigs at Knee Deep and End of the Road fest the only remaining chances to see her this summer before she puts all focus onto a debut album.

THE BIG NEU THING
LIFE - Crawling

Back in October we pointed grubby fingers to an equally grubby sounding band, LIFE. From Hull and with Kaiser Chiefs’ Nick Hodgson at the production desk, their early efforts resounded with a fizzing, US punk-nodding introduction. Now a debut single’s on the way, with ‘Crawling’ one half of a first effort on Birthday Records. This is beefed up, sharp-as-hell, frustrated rock ‘n roll. “I’ve lost my sense of purpose but now I’m fine” runs the sarcy chorus. LIFE are a rotten apple of a band. Take a bite.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Losing End - Are we still the same EP
