THE GIG
Chateaux support Theme Park - Norwich, The Waterfront

Baby-faced hook-obsessives Chateaux are still fairly new round these parts, but their March tour with Theme Park is a big sign of things to come. Expect their jaunty, restrained pop to woo a new audience every night, including tonight’s jive at Norwich.

THE SONG
Pick a Piper - Cinders and Dust [UK Premiere]

The third track on Caribou percussionist Brad Weber’s Pick a Piper project’s debut album, ‘Cinders and Dust’, is when things start getting seriously exciting. Sure, the previously unveiled ‘Lucid in Fjords’ and ‘All Her Colours’ open the record, so the standard’s set high. But for it to continue, three tracks in, all heady percussion and tight grooves, is some achievement. The debut album’s out on 2nd April through Mint Records. We’re delighted to have the UK premiere of this new effort. Dan Roberts pens the lyrics and provides vocals on what’s essentially a huge, collaborative project. Stream the new cut up above.

OTHER NEU BUSINESS
The Baba Rams
House By The Ocean by The Baba Rams

Chicago’s The Baba Rams devote their entire new record, ‘Brain Waves’ to Beach Boys starring all-round hero Brian Wilson. Let’s fact it: Most albums ought to be devoted to Brian Wilson, but few make such an explicit tribute as Baba Rams’ debut. Also labelled a ‘ritual for happiness’, the first work - distributed by Young Latitudes - circuits countless genres, hitting its zany peak in ‘House by the Ocean’.
