New music guide The Neu Bulletin (23rd April 2015)
DIY’s new music tips, featuring Demob Happy and Regal Degal.
The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out the inbox.
Every day we offer up a choice show, a song of the day (branched under the understated heading “Big Neu Thing”) and a little something extra that’s caught our attention. Check back here every day for your latest Neu Bulletin delivery and follow our ‘Listen’-tag for everything new music related.
THE GIG: Demob Happy, The Cut, Puppy
Demob Happy have the lead Neu spot in this month’s issue of DIY. Our feature checks in with a band who’ve taken the long run, establishing themselves as one of the UK’s most exciting live acts. Midway through a UK tour, tonight’s London leg welcomes in hyped-up fuzz fiends Puppy and fellow new name The Cut. If you miss out on this UK leg, put these guys at the top of your ‘must see’ list at The Great Escape.
London, The Lexington
Regal Degal have been an exciting New York staple for the past two years, and they’ve signed to Terrible Records (Empress Of, Palehound) for the release of a new LP, ‘Not Now’. The surreal dream-pop of ‘Delicious’ heads up the record, and it comes backed by an equally disorienting video, above.
