THE GIG
MØ, Men’s Adventures - The Old Blue Last, London
Karen Marie Ørsted’s debut track ‘Pilgrim’ is worth seeing on its own tonight, but even more thrilling is the prospect of seeing MØ shedding further light on her potential. She heads a cast of 2013 hopefuls at the OBL tonight, with the previously announced Heart Ships’ unfortunately having to pull out. Men’s Adventures complete the bill.
THE SONG
Pang Attack - Summer Lightning
Summer Lightning by Pang Attack
Pang Attack is a project based in Montreal, with Yann Geoffrey and David Clark combining to produce their debut EP, ‘Phantom Forest’. Said work’s opening track has an uplifting, autumnal pulse, the kind Arcade Fire fans will undoubtedly turn their heads towards for a closer glimpse.
OTHER NEU BUSINESS
Foreign Fields x Our Vinyl Session
Foreign Fields’ debut LP remains a hidden gem. It’s allowed the band to self-release the record on vinyl, go on tour across the States. But it’s yet to be picked up by a big-deal label and gain re-release. The above session might help convince a few important folk with chequebooks that these guys have plenty more to give. Despite losing up to $2,000 in equipment due to a burglary out on tour, the band mustered up their remaining equipment for this Our Vinyl session. Stream ‘Names & Races’ up above.
