The Neu Bulletin is a daily update of the most exciting new things DIY’s listening to. Some of the music you’ll like, some of it you won’t. Think of it as a stream of recommendations that every so often pops up something spectacular. Most of these are Bandcamp finds, big ups from readers or cheeky submissions that pop out of the inbox.

THE WEEKEND’S GIG:The DIY all dayer — The Laundry, London (1st November)

This is it. The biggest party we’ve ever thrown. Headliners JAWS are joined by Telegram, Deers, Flyte, Spring King, Blessa, Shy Nature, Menace Beach, Bloody Knees, Palace and Wyldest for ten hours plus of music. Plus we’ve plenty more surprises in store. The last remaining e-tickets are available now via Billetto, Ticketweb and DICE and we’ll have tickets on the door too.

THE BIG NEU THING:Ara Koufax — Brenda

This November, kings of the Aussie dance movement Cut Copy are pointing to the future with a new compilation, ‘Oceans Apart’. It sees the group highlight talents from across the country. Ara Koufax first made Neu with their ‘Converge’ debut, which fizzed world-y samples through an uplifting aesthetic. ‘Brenda’ goes even further, making house out to be a wild, unpredictable ride. Utilising a sample from Brenda Fassie, this is the duo’s finest moment yet.
