WHO’S MAKING WAVES? Braves make sun-kissed beach-pop of a slacker standard (call that a compliment, by the way), encompassing all the vibes home city Perth in Western Australia encompasses. Heavy regulation, really annoyingly big houses and a hell of a lot of affluence, but man, does Perth have vibes. Plaudits have come from the Flashlight Tag blog, amongst others. So take notice.

It was only yesterday that we were telling you all about how Honeyblood, one of our favourite bands, were being brought along for the scuzz pop ride that is Deap Vally’s current UK tour. Turns out they also took along these guys, The Death Rays of Ardilla, for a couple of dates. The above video for ‘Diamonds’ is a brilliantly hellish brush with death; a psychotic, post-punk introduction that you’re unlikely to forget.
