Back in July, as well as sharing their video for ‘Cameo’ from latest album ‘Universal High’ – which sees them drawing on the likes of classic Motown hits - Childhood announced that they’d be playing a date at London’s Scala.
Now, they’ve expanded their touring plans! In the run up to playing their Scala date in November, they’ll be heading to Leeds, Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Brighton across the span of the month. Tickets for all the new shows are on sale now.
Childhood have also shared a new video for ‘Don’t Have Me Back’. Speaking of the video, director George Barber said: “I asked a group of deaf and partially deaf music enthusiasts to observe Childhood’s performance of ‘Don’t Have Me Back’, to explore how deaf audiences would experience a live gig. Led by Jacqui Beckford (Ben’s stepmother), a sign language interpreter, the audience react to the lyrics and the musical arrangement of the song. The energy of the band and Jacqui’s majestic interpretation is received positively by our audience, demonstrating that a musical performance isn’t just for hearing audiences”.
