News The Neu Bulletin (Xmas Gig Guide)

As Neu’s daily bulletins take a well-earned break, we’ve given you a guide of all things new music to check out over Xmas.

We’re not going to raid your houses on Christmas Day, force you out into the open air and straight into a grimy venue to see the future stars of tomorrow, but we deemed it necessary to hand you this very succinct, comprehensive gig guide to the Christmas break. Stop watching Home Alone repeats, leave the turkey and stuffing leftovers for a rainy day, and head to some of these to get your new music fix.

20th December
Crushed Beaks - The Lock Tavern, London
Harsh, unrelenting guitar fuzz to help bring in the Christmas cheer. Crushed Beaks will probably be watching nasty horror flicks instead of ‘The Snowman’ on Christmas eve, but expect tonight’s occasion to be strangely, gruesomely festive.

20th December
MMOTHS support The xx - Brighton Centre
Jack Colleran’s brought together a full-band for the occasion of supporting The xx on their huge UK tour. The Brighton Centre plays host to the Ireland producer’s tracks tonight, as they come to life alongside fellow eccentric Kindness, who also supports.

22nd December
Trophy Wife, Bombay Bicycle Club, Dan Croll - KOKO, London
This could decidedly look like a rundown of all the acts that’ll be hogging the radio airwaves in the coming year. Big-timers Bombay Bicycle Club headline the relatively intimate affair, with ‘From Nowhere’-penner and DIY 2013 tip Dan Croll being one to watch.

2nd January
HELL HOUSE ONE. - Joey Fourr, Ides, Birdskulls, King of Cats, Beta Blocker And The Body Clock - Contact for address, Brighton
A ridiculous get together (and a somewhat secret affair) as all of the UK’s most exciting, revved-up talents congresses in an unknown address in the Centre of Brighton. Expect Ides to perform something breathtakingly intimate, while Joey Fourr and Birdskulls will make all your hairs stand up through sheer force. Further details can be found here.
