Tobias Jesso Jr promises a great deal. After sending a demo to former Girls man Chet ‘JR’ White, they’ve been hooked up in a LA studio working (‘JR’ is on production duties) on his debut album, which will see a release on True Panther Sounds. It’s not just ‘JR’ that has fallen head over heels for him either. Famous admirers including members of Foxygen, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Smith Westerns are all smitten for the Vancouver singer songwriter after getting their lucky mitts on demos. So you’d be right to presume that he’s something just a little bit special.

Up until recently Tobias didn’t have any material on the web, yet his name was still spreading like a wildfire. After taking down some recordings that screamed potential earlier this year, he recently gifted us ‘Just A Dream’, a gentle piano ballad that doesn’t need any gimmicks to show off his classic songwriting skills.
