Benjamin Francis Leftwich in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh – Cabaret Voltaire

I’d never been to Edinburgh before and it really didn’t disappoint! Such a beautiful place, it kind of reminds me of home (York)! We got in pretty early for a radio session and then got to the venue at 1 pm. Me and my friend Tom who is selling merch on tour went to get some food over the road from the venue and also played a bit of pool. I won. I also went looking for a new hat for the winter but couldn’t find anything that I felt compelled to buy. I felt myself coming down with a cold in Edinburgh so decided to take it pretty easy for the rest of the day. I did take a walk up to the castle though which was amazing. The gig in the evening was really fun! Cabaret Voltaire is a really cool venue, very intimate and vibey. Tonight was a lot of fun and a good way to end the Scottish run of the tour.

Leeds – Brudenell Social Club

I’ve played here a few times before , It’s one of the classic Leeds venues and I really love it. The venue is connected to a working men’s pub/pool bar and is in a really student area of Leeds. I had so much press today lolls! I had 3 different radio interviews and lots of different Leeds University press stuff as well…. And then three interviews at the venue… but it was cool and after I got them done me and my friend Sam, who is tour managing me at the moment, went to get fish and chips at the Royal Park Cellars… well deserved. I’d been ill for the past few days so was kind of nervous about how my voice would be… To be fair it wasn’t at it’s best but I really loved the show and got an encore for which I climbed on top of the sound sytem for… Fun times. I love Leeds.
