Newcastle – The Riverside

I was feeling really rough today for a couple of reasons, but I always love playing in Newcastle. I fell asleep as we were starting the drive to Newcastle and woke up just outside the town centre parked outside SUBWAY, so that happened… And it was good J The Riverside in Newcastle was literally by the river and it seemed like a really welcoming place. We hung out under the big bridge by the river a bit which was really relaxing. The venue itself was kind of a big nightclub so the crowd were a bit louder than normal tonight but it was a cool show! I saw my friends from LITTLE COMETS as well which is always nice…

Aberdeen – The Tunnels

Aberdeen was very grey and cold today but it was nice to see a bit of it after doing some weird radio interview in the morning. I spent some time at the Union Terrace gardens which was nice and had lunch at a place called “The Siberian Wodka Bar”! I was feeling really down and wiped out today but my first gig of the tour in Scotland was a real success and the crowd were ace. I played “Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm” completely unplugged at the end which felt like a great moment. It’s strange how you can be feeling down, then play a really good show and come off stage feeling really pumped up and positive. Music’s a powerful thing! And so are Scottish crowd’s!

Glasgow – Oran Mor

I really love playing in Glasgow, the vibe there is always great and tonight was no exception. I don’t know what it is about Glasgow, I just love it. Almost a year ago to the day I was on my first ever tour and played a show in the bar at King Tuts which 3 people turned up to and tonight I was playing to 350 in an amazing venue. My throat was a bit sore today so I was pretty worried about playing but from the second I went on I had a really positive vibe from the crowd and I loved it. Any worries went out of the window. To get to the dressing room you had to go up a lift as wel Weird but cool. See you tomorrow.
