News Tour Diary: Citizens! (Part Four)

The band are keeping a daily diary for DIY, documenting their trip.

Citizens! are currently out on the road before the release of their as yet untitled debut album, due out later this year. The band are keeping a daily diary for DIY, documenting the trip. Here’s some words on their time in Camden.

Here we are NOT on the motorway from Paris to Calais. There are two possibilities. Either the main thoroughfare from France’s main port to it’s capital city is a single lane country road which no more than one car can fit down at a time OR we have taken a wrong turning and are lost.

On Returning to the country we find the lovely folk at NME have got us in their gigs of the week. Big props to anyone who sees all of these gigs. Big props to anyone who calls their band Wet Nuns.

The Camden show is at the Electric Ballroom. When we arrive it is the Empty Ballroom. Here we see Thom Rhoades taking to the floor to practise his waltz. It took us five minutes in the van to come up with an appropriate ball room dancing term.

Here is Martyn Richmond holding the running list for the evening. Behind it he has on an awesome MC5 T-Shirt. I have little else to say out this photo. Except that all the bands who played last night were ace and very nice. Is this the wettest diary entry yet?

Continuing my Friday obsession with Martyn Richmond here he is tuning. Martyn loves tuning his bass. He’s into jazz and stuff where it’s frowned upon to not be in tune.
