News Tour Diary: Citizens! (Part Fourteen)

The final instalment in the band’s tour diary for DIY.

In the final part of the tour diary the Citizens! lads have been keeping for DIY, the band visit Brighton’s Green Door Store before they head off to Europe for the next leg of their tour.

The final date of the tour and it’s in the appropriately named Green Door Store. Here is the green door. Though if one thinks about it for a wee bit, the door could be any colour, as long as one could purchase a green door inside. Unfortunately no joy. It was, possibly to our benefit, an amazing gig venue.

They also had a lovely spaceman themed poster. In hindsight, rather than taking pictures of these posters i should have pocketed a couple.

We went for a lovely pizza in a little Italian around the corner in the lanes. For some reason no one wanted to sit with Thom. The joke however was on me, when five minutes later the rest of the band left and I was left alone.

Here is a picture of Mike smiling. It tells you nothing of the gig or the Brighton experience (both amazing, probably the best of the tour) but it’s a lovely photo. We’ll ignore Thom Rhoades face getting in the way.

On the way home, one was in need of a publication that was going to provide for me my monthly beach volleyball fix, while also keeping me up to date with THE great foxhounds of our times, as well as, if possible, offering a pun based on the greatest rock and roll band of all time and Germany’s car for the people. I wasn’t hopefully, but as usual, The Field delivered.

It may seem that this photo is hopelessly out of focus, but I think that after a month on tour it’s us that have gone blurry. We have two days off and then it’s off to Europe. France awaits. Au Revoir and all that.
