Moustaches and mad fans - see life on the road for Sub Pop’s most bonkers prodigy.

Life with King Tuff on the road can’t be a breeze. There must be - at least subconsciously - the obligation to act like a crazy lunatic 24/7, upping the ante another level altogether when it comes to playing shows. It’s the energy that his ‘Black Moon Spell’ record - out now on Sub Pop - encourages, and it’s a head-first dive into brilliant bravado that extends to crowds when he plays.

But that doesn’t stop King Tuff’s tour life from being a small, magical mystery. Yes, moustaches are a must. Booze is welcome. But as for the rest of it? Anyone’s guess.

Thankfully, Tuffy has provided a nifty photo guide to life on the road. Turns out, touring’s all about wearing masks, freaking out for Halloween, donning insane bandanas, drinking stupid amounts of coffee and seeing what the next city brings.

This month, the tour arrives on these shores. Over to King Tuff: “Dear Europe, we are very excited to explore all of your ancient crevices and we would like to trade you some of our American Rock & Roll in exchange for a taste of all of your mysterious candies, dank cheeses, and of course a sip or two of your craziest brews,” he offers.

King Tuff plays Manchester Soup Kitchen (17th November), Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s (18th), Birmingham’s The Oobleck (19th), London’s Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen (20th) and London’s The Coronet with Julian Casablancas + The Voidz, 7th December.
