‘Headbanger’ clip gets a TOTP-style video complete with fur coats
King Tuff has shared a video for ‘Headbanger’, a track featured on the recent album ‘Black Moon Spell’, released on Sub Pop back in 2014. Shot with Funny or Die, the video features an appearance from Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, in a goofy nostalgic “lost episode”.
King Tuff plays on a fabricated television show called ‘Bottom Of The Pops’, with ‘Headbanger’ announced as the week’s “mediocre pop song of the week”. Steve Jones plays the fictitious host Ian Coverdale and there’s a good amount of glam and fur coats to give the TOTP style video a dose of authenticity.
Directed by Jake Folgenest, he explains: “As soon as I heard the King Tuff album I said, ‘Man I wish could watch a performance of them playing on Top of the Pops in 1975. Since it would be impossible for that footage to exist, the next best thing was to call Steve Jones from The Sex Pistols and make it ourselves.”
