News Tour Diary: Theme Park

That lovely Theme Park have been busy hiking around the UK, playing their self-titled debut album to the masses from Brighton to Glasgow and wooing all the crowds. So we said to them, while you’re on your jaunts, how about you take lots of photos of everything you see, everything you do, some boozes, the new games that you invent, and if it’s at all possible, some snow, please? Being really brilliant, that’s exactly what they did.

Which means that, for your viewing pleasure, we’ve got all the backstage secrets from their tour. They’ve also put together a short video of their shenanigans, which you can watch below. Enjoy!

First night of the tour. We all enjoyed some bevies at the Travelodge bar (glamorous). Oscar wasn’t with us this night, as he had gone out partying…

We were in Brighton, so we had to go to the pier. The mermaid’s skin tone matched Oscar’s exactly…

Marcus, Oscar and drummer Phil going to the arcades before soundcheck.

Believe it or not, we actually won some teddy bears and tokens!

The Theme Park merchandise team (Louise and Alice) went out to get matching outfits while we were soundchecking, Sadly, they didn’t buy these ones…

Our biggest headline show EVER! At Heaven; this is us chilling on the big stage while some lights were being tested out.

…and us on stage when the time came (don’t the lights look great?).

Crowd shot! Looks like they were having a good time though.

Bassist Ric pondering as we drive to Manchester on day five.

Guitar World all set up for guitar tech Louis in Manchester.

Our first headline show in Manchester.

Marcus and Louis get intimate at a post show party…

In Southampton, we went out to what was voted the second worst club in Britain. It was called Jesters and it was horrible. One couple were ‘making love’ in the corner of the dance floor…

On the way to Glasgow, we were caught in a flash snow blizzard. Cars were skidding of the road all around us, so we stopped at a service station for a bit for it to calm down.

When we got to Glasgow, Ric and Oscar invented flight case tennis…

Theme Park playing at the Cluny in Newcastle. A really drunk girl got on stage and tried to snog the lead singer of Luls who were supporting that night, then she started pulling mini Jager bottles out her bra and downing them.

Alice and Louise tuck into some Tia in Nottingham.

Tour manager Tommy a little worse for wear in Sheffield. We were staying above the venue, Ric had a shower before the show and it flooded the stage, so they were upgraded to the penthouse…

Miles and Oscar meet some fans after the Bristol show.

Last show of the tour in Nottingham…

Our friends Dog Is Dead took us out partying to celebrate.

When it was time to go home, Oscar wasn’t ready for the party to finish.

Theme Park’s self-titled debut album is out now via Transgressive Records.
