A Tribe Called Quest’s new LP on course for #1 in the US album charts
Their first LP in 18 years could be their first #1 in 20 years.
Last week A Tribe Called Quest released comeback record ‘We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service,’ their first album in 18 years and first since Phife Dawg’s passing.
It’s now looking like they’ll score their first Number 1 LP since 1996’s ‘Beats, Rhymes And Life.’ They’re set to have sold the equivalent of 120,000 album units in its first week of release, which is enough to put them on top of the Billboard 200 chart.
‘We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service’ features all the original members of Tribe – including a posthumous appearance from Phife Dawg – as well as contributions from Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Jack White and even Elton John.
Watch them perform ‘We The People….’ on Saturday Night Live below, and check out what we thought of the album here.
