Jumble sale
Beyoncé’s dad sold all her old stuff for two grand the day before Christmas
Matthew Knowles spent Christmas Eve making a sneaky bit of dosh. What a Scrooge.

Personal belongings, old memorabilia, CDs and DVDs were among the items strewn across the garage of Beyoncé’s father Matthew Knowles on Christmas Eve, as he embarked on a garage sale to clear out his home recording studio.
With some items stretching back as far as Bey’s Destiny’s Child days, the sale was expected to raise Papa Knowles upwards of $2000 – with deals including three t-shirts for a tenner on offer at the rummage sale. Meanwhile, Beyoncé herself was in Iceland, celebrating husband Jay-Z’s 45th birthday.
Beyoncé’s relationship with her father has been strained over the years. While her family ties have always been an integral part of her life – mother Tina still designs her stage costumes – an unceremonious divorce in 2011 amidst allegations of infidelity led to Beyoncé ditching her father, who had until that point served as her manager. In an interview with local news, Matthew Knowles denied that the “simple garage sale” was an indication that he was struggling for money.
