Billie Eilish shares new song ‘wish you were gay’
It’s the second preview of debut album ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’.
Billie Eilish is releasing her debut album at the end of the month, and has shared a second song from it.
‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ will come out on 29th March via Polydor, and is being previewed by new track ‘wish you were gay’.
Shared as Zane Lowe’s World Record on his Beats 1 radio show, the track follows the great ‘bury a friend’ in leading up to the debut record from a very exciting new talent.
“‘wish you were gay’ is about wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts, and not wanting to accept that this person doesn’t want you in return,” she says of the track. “At least if they were gay, I’d have a valid reason for their rejection and lack of interest in being with me. I wrote the song when I was 14 and madly in love with a boy. It’s supposed to be a fun and playful way at dealing with rejection.”
Billie is set to play three sold-out shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, beginning tonight (4th March).
