Chappaqua Wrestling share the classic, nostalgia-tinged lilt of ‘Cry Every Time’

The Brighton duo’s latest is today’s neu pick.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Chappaqua Wrestling.

Here over in Neu corner, we know the value for a new band of having people on your side - it’s kinda what we do.

Since the release of last year’s debut ‘Plant Trees’, Chappaqua Wrestling - the duo formed of Brighton pals Jake Mac and Charlie Woods - have been collecting their fair share of notable supporters, and now the spoils come in the form of latest single ‘Cry Every Time’.

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, specifically at the behest of Radio One’s new music don Huw Stephens - who chose them, essentially, as his own personal prize winners - the track takes the 60s-infused, classic songwriting promise of their debut and polishes it up with all the additional tricks you’ll get from working at the world’s most famous studios.

It’s slick as you like, and imbued with an innate ear for a classic melody. Well done, lads. Well done, Huw.
