Chrissie Hynde penning “incredibly frank” memoir
The as-yet-unnamed book is set to come out in September.

The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde is writing a memoir, publisher Penguin Random House has revealed, to be out later this year.
The book, as-yet-unnamed, is said to be both “incredibly frank” and a “strikingly intimate portrayal” of the 70s punk scene from which Hynde emerged.
A statement from Hynde about the book, as Billboard reports, says she hopes the book “would make people dance, have fun, possibly cry and maybe reach for a guitar”.
Chrissie Hynde released her debut solo album, ‘Stockholm’ last year. The last Pretenders album was ‘Break Up The Concrete’, out in 2008, while a Best Of was released the following year.
