Clean Cut Kid deliver on debut single ‘Vitamin C’

Liverpool four-piece’s first work is a brilliantly disjointed, essential supplement.

“I’m gonna be your vitamin C!” bark Liverpool group Clean Cut Kid on their debut single. And they really do bark. Bellowed-out bursts of energy define the four-piece’s first work, which gets by on a Haim-nodding sense of funk-lined hugeness.

So positive and confident are Clean Cut Kid that they’re the thing missing in your life, the healthy dose of nutrition that you’ve been longing for, they’re willing to declare it from the rooftops. An instant antidote to loneliness and boredom, it’s disjointed like early Vampire Weekend and chart-bothering like the most assured of future-hits.

DIY’s got the first play of ‘Vitamin C’ below, and Annie Mac’s giving it a spin on BBC Radio 1 on tonight’s show.

‘Vitamin C’ will be released on 24th July via Polydor / Babe Magnet. Clean Cut Kid appear at Huw Stephens’ London Social night, 9th June. They also play Latitude and Secret Garden Party this summer.
