Clean Cut Kid share ‘Jean’ single

Liverpool group headline DIY’s night at London festival Community.

Sunny-side-up Liverpool newcomers Clean Cut Kid have shared ‘Jean’, the clattering flip-side to their new single ‘Runaway’.

The single lands alongside a VHS-style video, arriving just in time for the group’s appearance for DIY Presents’ night at London festival Community. They play Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on 4th November.

Mike Halls from Clean Cut Kid reveals that ‘Jean’ is about his nan. “When she died a few years ago, the whole family lost its North Star: none more than my Grandad Jimmy. All of a sudden he seemed 2 feet shorter, and that famous sparkle in his eye was gone. Jean (the song) is me trying to put into words what I could see he was feeling. Even if nobody outside my family gets it, just the fact that someone somewhere might be singing her name long after she’s gone will be enough.”
