CLOUD gets exploratory on ‘Patience Through the Storm’

Tyler Taormina remains an unsung secret, but not for much longer. Under the name CLOUD, he’s released two bright-eyed, wondrous LPs - ‘Comfort Songs’ and the more recent ‘Zen Summer’. On both releases, he sounds like he possesses the keys to another universe, flying without gravity, lightness defining his every step.

There’s more where that came from. New song ‘Patience Through the Storm’ is another exploratory work, built in the school of post-‘Person Pitch’-era Panda Bear. It’s taken from an EP of the same name, due out on Paper Trail Records. Taormina’s vocals are tied up in a sea of effects, but unlike many zen-minded contemporaries, he pierces through the fog with purpose.
