Cross Record lifts the lid on ‘High Rise’ video
The second track from her new album comes accompanied by an, er, interesting video.
Emily Cross’ vocal under her Cross Record moniker is the sort that deals in delicacy. For ‘High Rise’, her new track, that delicacy is juxtaposed by a thunderous lashing of high-gain guitars.
That disquiet is emphasised in the track’s video. Pairing a skin tone full-body stocking with a whirring chainsaw and an, er, interesting dance routine atop a lopped-off tree, it’s in the contrasts that Cross proves her music’s true beauty.
Following its lead single ‘Steady Waves’, ‘High Rise’ is the second track to be taken from Cross Record’s new album, ‘Wabi-Sabi’, released on January 29th via Bada-Bing Records. In our November issue, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu picks out Cross Record as one to keep an eye on. Grab a copy of that here.
