Daneshevskaya releases alt-folk single ‘Somewhere In The Middle’

The songwriter also announced plans to tour North America supporting Black Country, New Road.

Yesterday, (26th June), Daneshevskaya shared her first new music since 2021: the understated, folk-infused ‘Somewhere In The Middle’. The track marks the beginning of a new era for the artist (whose full name is Anna Daneshevskaya Beckerman) and arrives accompanied by a laid-back film compilation of Anna and her friend/bandmate Madeline Leshner.

Explaining the meaning behind the track’s title, Anna shares: “My grandma had two sisters and her parents would say ‘Anita has the looks, Miriam has the books, and Gloria has the charm’. I used to think about which one I would want to be. I never questioned having to choose”.

Produced in collaboration with a team including Model/Actriz’s Ruben Radlauer and Black Country, New Road’s Lewis Evans, the single is the first taste of what audiences can expect from Daneshevskaya’s stint supporting BC,NR across North America on the following dates.
