Diplo is the most Shazammed artist of the year

Diplo is the most Shazammed artist of 2015. People used the app over 40 million times to identify his music, with Major Lazer’s ‘Lean On’ being searched for 16.6 million times.

His big hit with Justin Bieber ‘Where Are You Now’ - shazammed 9.6 million times - and Diplo track ‘Be Right There’ (4.6m) boosted the final total, with his production work on M.I.A’s ‘Paper Planes’ also adding a few more of those Shazams.

It’s not Diplo’s first record of the year. Last month his MØ featuring ‘Lean On’ became the most streamed track in Spotify’s history, with a mighty play total of 526 million.
