DIY Presents: Shut Up And Play The Hits, Sub 89, Reading
We’re bringing LCD Soundsystem back from the dead. Kind of.

Back in September we celebrated DIY’s 10th birthday by talking to James Murphy. With LCD Soundsystem retired, and the brilliant Shut Up And Play The Hits about to hit cinemas, it seemed fitting to lay to rest one of the most important bands of their - and our - generation.
Thing is, we’re clingy. We don’t want to let go. We tried wishing really, really hard that they’d have a change of heart, but so far that’s not really working out. That doesn’t mean we’re completely out of ideas.
Teaming up with our friends Monkeysuit and distributors Pulse Films, we’re bringing LCD Soundsystem back from the dead. Kind of.
On 11th January we’ll take over Reading’s Sub 89 with a big screen, full PA and lights. Onto that screen, we’ll play the entirety of LCD’s farewell Madison Square Garden show. All three and a half hours of it. And there’ll be none of that sitting down, either. It’s a gig. It will be awesome.
We’re not stopping there, either. Afterwards there’ll be an LCD 2001-2011 afterparty, hosted by Cubed DJs, featuring music from the lifespan of the band. That’s everything from Soulwax to The Rapture to Arcade Fire.
Tickets are available from Sub89.com and Seetickets.com.
