See FKA twigs’ short documentary on her Baltimore Dance Project

Remember when FKA twigs held a killer dance workshop in Baltimore back in July? Now you can watch a short film documenting what happened that day.

Twigs originally tweeted a call out for dancers to attend the class with her and her choreographers and dancers Ramon Baynes, Dominic Lawrence and Kash Powell at the city’s Lithuanian Hall, with over 400 people turning up to the studio. Some lucky people were then asked back to perform with twigs at her live show.

The film, which was directed by Nick Walker and has been produced in partnership with WeTransfer Studios, condenses down the five-hour long series of routines performed at the workshop. Sounds pretty intense, but as twigs says: “when you are there and everyone’s laughing, or you walk down the street and someone helps you with something. How you feel a beat pulsing under your feet that makes you want to explore. When you call 400 people into a room and by themselves they start whiling out and going crazy, doing backflips, dancing together. That’s soul. That’s vitality.”

You can experience a bit of that vitality by watching the documentary here.
