Mercury Prize 2014
FKA twigs: It would be a “great honour” to win the Mercury Prize
From this evening’s red carpet, FKA twigs also hints that she’s already working on her second full-length.

FKA twigs is one of the nominees for this year’s Mercury Prize, for her recently released debut studio album, ‘LP1’ - and she’d be thrilled to win. “It would be a great honour,” she tells DIY on the red carpet. “You can’t really expect to win.”
Despite her debut only having been out for a few months - it was released in August via Young Turks - she’s already considering the follow up. “I’ve started making music,” she considers, “but I haven’t thought about what format it’s going to take.”
Whilst not presuming to take the prize, the bookies’ most recent favourite isn’t nervous about the evening’s proceedings. “I don’t really get nervous,” twigs concludes, “I’m quite a show person.”
Other acts nominated for the Mercury Prize 2014 include Bombay Bicycle Club, Royal Blood, Anna Calvi, Jungle and Young Fathers. The winner will be announced later this evening (Wednesday 29th October) at the Roundhouse, London ceremony.
