Gaz Coombes Releases Debut Solo Album Details
The ex-Supergrass frontman gears up to release hide debut solo effort.

Gaz Coombes has unveiled details surrounding the release of his debut solo album.
The ex-Supergrass frontman has unveiled plans to release ‘Gaz Coombes Presents… Here Come The Bombs’ on the 21st May, through Hot Fruit Recordings and EMI Label Services.
Self-produced alongside Sam Williams - the man behind Supergrass’ Number 1 debut ‘I Should Coco’ - Coombes recorded the majority of the album alone in his home studio in Oxfordshire.
Speaking exclusively to DIY for our forthcoming ‘In The Studio’ piece, Coombes spoke about the recording process, saying: ‘I’ve worked a lot over the years with my own set up and I’ve recorded songs here and there. So, it was just an extension of what I’ve always done really. It’s just that, when I started writing this time - on this album, last year - after a couple of songs, I quickly realised there was a bit of a sound forming. It was definitely different to in the past; just more direction. I just knew what I wanted to do.’
The album also looks set to be preceded by debut single ‘Hot Fruit’, which becomes available on the 14th May.
You can also download taster track ‘Sub-Divider’ by heading to his Facebook page.
