The sold-out festival recently confirmed that Wet Leg, Underworld, and TV On The Radio will headline this year’s edition.

Green Man Festival announces 2025 lineup and launches this year's Green Man Rising Competition

Green Man has unveiled details of this year’s Green Man Rising Competition, an initiative which allows emerging artists to apply for the chance to open the festival’s main stage at 2025’s sold-out event.

Last year won by buzzy newcomers The Orchestra (For Now) - who also received a professional recording at the festival as part of their prize - the competition offers grassroots artists a valuable springboard, from which previous winners have gone on to receive recognition from the likes of the Mercury Prize and BBC Radio.

Applications for Green Man Rising 2025 are open from now until 7th April (find out more and apply here), after which a panel of industry professionals will choose five artists to play in the competition’s live final at Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach on 20th May. The winner will then open the festival by playing its iconic main Mountain Stage, while runners-up will perform on its Rising Stage.

The competition launch also comes hot on the heels of Green Man’s anticipated 2025 lineup reveal, which saw Kneecap, Wet Leg, Underworld, and TV On The Radio confirmed as this year’s headliners. Elsewhere, attendees at the sold-out weekender will be treated to the likes of Wunderhorse, Perfume Genius, CMAT, English Teacher and many more - phew!

Green Man 2025 will take place from 14th-17th August in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park; you can find out more here, and check out the lineup in full below.
