Henry Green crafts intricate gold with ‘Real’ EP

We’ve got the first spin of the Bristolian’s new release.

Every weekday, DIY’s new music know-it-all Neu brings you one essential new release to get obsessed with. Today’s Neu Pick comes from Henry Green.

Sharing his name with a famous British novelist, a prominent architect, quite a few politicians, and some American bloke who collected ancient Greek coins back in the day, it’s perhaps lucky that this particular Henry Green has the musician thing fully cornered when it comes to his name. Hailing from the gert lush city of Bristol, the producer specialises in the kind of carefully crafted, loom-spun melodies that creep up before catching unawares.

His new EP ‘Real’ looks at running away from moments, and embracing things head-on, and showcases some incredibly nifty production too; not to mention a beautifully distinctive vocal.

“Real is a literal title for the EP,” Henry tells DIY. “It’s about feeling real, experiencing the emotions that we’re supposed to experience, and immersing ourselves fully in every moment. Creating these four songs, with the help of some special friends, revitalised me and helped me feel real when I needed to most.”

We’ve got the first spin on Henry Green’s new EP ‘Real’ below as today’s Neu Pick. Have a listen.
