Hot Chip cover LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All Your Friends’ with Nancy Whang and Sinkane
The band took on the ‘Sound of Silver’ staple at New York’s Webster Hall, with cameos from some familiar DFA Records faces.
Currently on tour in the U.S. Hot Chip paid tribute to a well-known local band during their show at New York’s Webster Hall. Covering LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Sound of Silver’ staple, ‘All Your Friends,’ Hot Chip’s Al Doyle - who has also played in LCD’s live band - took up lead vocals. The band were also joined by LCD’s own Nancy Whang, and DFA Records associate Sinkane.
Besides Al Doyle’s guitar-playing role in LCD Soundsystem in the past, there’s another strong link between the two bands. Hot Chip’s Doyle and Felix Martin have another band, New Build, and previously collaborated with LCD’s Pat Mahoney on the project.

Update: Footage has now emerged from the second show, where David Byrne joined the band to perform ‘Dancing in the Dark’ and ‘All My Friends’. Watch clips via Brooklyn Vegan.
