Hot Chip stream ‘Why Make Sense?’ title-track on suitably non-sensical website
See the BBC News site like you’ve never seen it before.
Think the outcome of this year’s election is confusing? Wait until you see Hot Chip’s take on things.
The group have re-imagined the BBC News website in order to stream ‘Why Make Sense?’, the title-track from their new record.
It involves standard words having their letters jumbled, so that headlines read (for example): “UK patry laeedrs cast tehir votes” and “How to vtoe on polling day”. It makes today’s election fever look slightly sinister, actually.
Backing the confusion is the track itself, a similarly ominous swansong for the band’s new LP, which comes out 18th May on Domino. Listen here.
Hot Chip play the following sold out UK dates this month:
MAY
12 Glasgow, School of Art
13 Manchester, Gorilla
14 London, Oval Space
