Hot Chip take on Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’
The band have been offering up their own rendition of the track during their current US tour.
It may have been over thirty years since Bruce Springsteen first invited a young Courtney Cox up on stage to dance with him to his massive hit ‘Dancing In The Dark’, but the song’s legacy is still growing, even in 2015. On their latest tour of North America, those electronic masters Hot Chip decided to induct it into their own set, and give it a fresh lease of life in the process.
The band, who played a slew of UK shows last month, are currently out on the road in the US airing their new album ‘Why Make Sense?’ As spotted by Consequence of Sound, the Londoners threw in the cover at a recent show in Milwaukee before showcasing their glitchy take on the track again at Boston’s House of Blues.
Check out their performance of ‘Dancing In The Dark’ - which sounds brilliant with Alexis Taylor’s light-as-a-feather vocals - below. Sadly, it looks like Courtney Cox wasn’t available to join them onstage this time.
The band will be returning to the UK later this month to perform at Glastonbury, before they embark on another UK headline tour in October.
