Hot Chip to release unique artwork for every copy of ‘Why Make Sense?’

New album arrives in 501 different colours (Sidenote: DO 501 COLOURS ACTUALLY EXIST?!)

Hot Chip to release unique artwork for every copy of ‘Why Make Sense?’

Hot Chip have announced plans to go colour-crazy with the artwork for their new album, ‘Why Make Sense?’

Citing a “unique and bespoke printing technique” that’s “never been used before”, the album is set to arrive in 501 different colours. When combined with these shades, individual designs will help make completely individualised art for every copy of the record on CD and LP.

The revolutionary aspect of this news is that Hot Chip appear to be inventing more colours - you can see the idea in action from a video by designer Nick Relph here.

‘Why Make Sense?’ is released on 18th May - it’s being headed up by ‘Huarache Lights’.

Hot Chip play two UK shows this May - Manchester Gorilla (13th May) and London’s Oval Space (14th May).
