Jorja Smith returns with new single ‘Try Me’
It is her first new music since 2021’s ‘Be Right Back’ EP.
Jorja Smith has returned with a brand new single and video. ‘Try Me’ is available now via FAMM Records.
The song is produced by the French duo DAMEDAME and the video is directed by Amber Grace Johnson, shot on the streets of Marseille, France.
Speaking about the song, Smith has said that it is about, “Putting yourself out there, in front of a world that has many opinions, as it only ever used to be me really being my own critic.”
A native of Walsall in the West Midlands, Smith’s debut album ‘Lost & Found’ was released in 2018, reaching #3 on the UK Albums Chart, leading to her winning the BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist and earning a Grammy nomination. She then broke a three-year absence from new music with her 2021 EP ‘Be Right Back’.
Speaking about returning after her time away from music: “I like this world that I’ve just come into. And I’m still figuring things out. Always figuring things out. This is the first time I’m putting stuff out there that I can connect with right now.”
