Josh Homme has scored new film ‘In The Fade’

Faith Akin’s new movie was recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Josh Homme recently revealed his feelings on the upcoming “risky” but “best” Queens of the Stone Age album, saying that he was like “a panther in the trees leaping out of the darkness”, “ready to pounce”. We’re ready to pounce all over the new QOTSA record too, but it turns out that Josh has been busy with more than just their new record. It’s been revealed that he’s also scored the new movie by Faith Akin, ‘In The Fade’, which premiered this week at the Cannes Film Festival (and yep, it also has the same name as half a track from ‘Rated R’!) The film itself centres on one woman’s quest for revenge against members of the NSU (National Socialist Underground), a neo-Nazi group responsible for the murder of her son and husband. Speaking to Variety, Akin spoke about Josh’s involvement with the film: “When I was writing this, I was listening to a lot of music by Queens of the Stone Age. I had the feeling that this could be the music that the character was listening to. It has a self-destructive attitude and somehow the film is about self-destruction. I sent him a very early version of the film. He immediately called back saying he loved it and was blown away and that he would like to put his hands on it”. You can watch a trailer for ‘In The Fade’ below.
