Kagoule get animated in the video for ‘Monsieur Automaton’

The clip is animated using drawings from their band’s drummer Lawrence English.

A few weeks back, Nottingham trio Kagoule made a driving return with their new track ‘Monsieur Automaton’.

Now the track’s got a brand new, animated video, created by Adam Black using the illustrations band’s own drummer Lawrence English. How many drawings went into this? Hundreds. It’s a dystopian vision from the video, which tumbles down the rabbit hole and enters the void simultaneously.

Vocalist Cai Burns said of the video: “Lawrence has always done the artwork for the band. It’s as much a part of Kagoule as the music, so it totally made sense to try and get it into a music video. He drew like a million drawings, wrote some whacky ass storyline (which I still don’t really understand) and then we realised that animation is HARD so we hit up an old bro of ours Adam Black to bring it to life”.

From next month, Kagoule will be heading out on a UK tour, kicking off in York and ending a month later in Manchester. Tickets are on sale now.
