Kendrick Lamar gets biblical in the video for ‘Humble’
“You gotta see this,” says Kendrick. He’s not wrong.
Rejoice! Just a week after dropping ‘The Heart Part Four,’
Kendrick Lamar has dropped another single!
‘Humble’ has been produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, and sees
Kendrick commanding everyone to “sit down, be humble,” because, among other
things, his “left stroke just went viral.” So, wonder which rappers he’s got in
his line of fire, then?
Of course, it’s got a typically striking video to match –
Kendrick kicks off the track by saying “wicked or weakness, you gotta see this,”
and he’s lot lying), as frequent directorial collaborator Dave Meyers of The
Little Homies has pulled it out of the bag. Perhaps not surprising given
Kendrick’s recent comments about religion, the clip is filled with dramatic
imagery, including of Kendrick himself taking Jesus’ seat at The Last Supper,
passing the Grey Poupon, riding his bike across a 360° plane and at the hairdressers
(it’s neon-lit).
Watch the video for ‘Humble’ below.
With Bob Vylan, St Vincent, girl in red, Lizzy McAlpine and more.
