Kings of Leon weird us out in their ‘Waste A Moment’ video

Last week Kings of Leon gave us a taster of their new album ‘Walls’ in the shape of the anthemic ‘Waste A Moment.’ Now they’ve revealed the track’s video and, to be honest, it’s hard to tell just what the heck’s going on.

At first it seems like a cheerleader-filled pastiche of M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘The Happening,’ but then Caleb Followill has a Mexican standoff with an old man in someone’s living room (natch) and things get weird. Really weird.

There’s a whole portion of the clip dedicated to just showing off eyeballs, octopus brooches and a plastic dinosaur in a yellow room. At one point a toy car drives out of a cheerleader’s crotch for some reason. Yep, really. In the end, the clip seems to suggest that all this happened because of, you know, aliens. Of course! ‘Twin Peaks’ has nothing on the level of crackers going on here.
