Ladyhawke To Return With New Material In ‘The Next Few Months’

Ladyhawke is set to release a new single later this year, confirming the news via Twitter.

Posting on her official account @ladyhawkeforyou, the New Zealander promised new material in the near future. ‘Getting the ball rolling, first single out in the nxt few months,’ she wrote. ‘Can’t wait to get back into it again!’

Ladyhawke has been working on the follow up to her self titled debut, originally released in 2008, in the south of France. Speaking to Stuff about the record, the singer commented: ‘It’s been really weighing me down. It’s that second album thing, people always talk about it and it’s true.’

‘It is really stressful and I just keep thinking people are going to want to hear a ‘Paris is Burning’ or ‘My Delirium’ but I’m not going to have those songs, it’s going to be a completely different album and style.’

The new record is described as ‘still pop, just a bit darker and a bit rockier.’
