James Murphy’s dream has come true - LCD Soundsystem are number one! The band’s fourth album ‘American Dream’, released on the first day of this month, topped the Billboard charts in the US, becoming the band’s first chart-topper.
The record picked up 85,000 equivalent sales, 81,000 of which came through traditional sales.
It’s long been James Murphy’s ambition to have a number one record, urging fans to buy copies of each record to help him reach the top spot.
LCD Soundsystam are set to take ‘American Dream’ on tour in the UK this month, with two shows set for London’s Alexandra Palace in under two weeks’ time.
