Something great:
LCD Soundsystem debuted new tracks in Brooklyn last night
They played three new songs: ‘Tonight,’ ‘Call Police’ and ‘American Dream.’
Last night, LCD Soundsystem kicked off their residency at
New York’s new Brooklyn Steel venue.
The band announced that they’d be playing some new songs via
a huge poster on the night, but urged fans not to film them because, as
reported by Pitchfork, “it’d be a real gutpunch.” A couple of fans managed to
get a hold of the setlist though, revealing that alongside old classics such as
‘Daft Punk Is Playing At My House,’ ‘All My Friends’ and ‘Tribulations,’ they
also played three brand new tracks: ‘Tonight,’ ‘Call Police’ and ‘American
Dream.’
Perhaps these tracks will appear on LCD’s upcoming new
album? Back in January James Murphy gave a little update on the LP’s progress,
saying that it’ll be “done soon.” Perhaps anyone at the Brooklyn Steel in the
coming days will get a good taste of what to expect from it.
