Listen to LCD Soundsystem’s new album ‘American Dream’
It’s the band’s first album in seven years!

Well, it’s finally, officially here: after breaking up, and then triumphantly returning last year, LCD Soundsystem are finally back with their first new album since 2010’s ‘This Is Happening’. And, of course, it’s a bit of a doozy.
Of course, in our review of the LP we even said “this wasn’t ever going to be a bad album, was it?” Well, no. You could tell that just by the strength of its teaser singles alone. Way back in May, James Murphy and co released two tracks at the same time – ‘Call The Police/ American Dream’ – that pretty much cemented, even at its earliest stages, that they’d be making a comprehensive comeback.
Since then, we’ve had a very slow little drip-feed of tracks and information here and there, including ‘Tonite’, which featured a retro-tastic video that harkened back just a little to LCD’s earliest clips. Just yesterday the group released ‘Pulse (V.1)’, a track that doesn’t even feature on ‘American Dream’. Really, that’s a bit of a testament to how good their comeback is. If they can afford to leave off a 13-minute stormer like that, then they must be on to a winner.
