Lollapalooza announces Berlin festival for 2015

September fest links up with events in Chicago, Chile, Brazil and Argentina.

Worldwide festival Lollapalooza has announced plans to host its first ever event in Europe.

Lollapalooza Berlin takes place from September 12th-13th at Tempelhof Airport (a disused hub for flights for the past six years).

This’ll be the first European event for the organisers, who also host festivals in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and most notably Chicago.

Festival Republic (Latitude, Reading and Leeds) will be running the event.

Founder of Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell, says: “Berlin’s energy, vibrant art, fashion and music scenes are a mirror reflection of what Lollapalooza is all about and I can’t wait to share in this cultural exchange.”

Marc Geiger of WME adds: “Berlin feels like it is ready to explode as a city and cultural center and we want to be there to grow with the city.”
